Why Tally exports slow the audit down.
- Exports go stale: An export is a snapshot. When the client posts an entry later, the sheets no longer agree with the books.
- Cleaning before testing: Ledgers, groups and vouchers are tidied by hand every year before the work can begin.
- Edits are hard to see: Vouchers changed after they were first entered are hard to spot in an export.
How IndiaAuditLens handles it.
- Connect or import: Import Tally XML or JSON files, several companies at once, or pair the Tally Bridge on a Windows PC for live sync.
- Check and classify: Import checks show what came in. Ledgers are classified to Schedule III, with last year's mapping carried forward.
- Review the edit log: Tally's edit log is read in, each edited voucher shows its versions, and the team raises a finding where needed.
- Reconcile and test: Bank, GST 2B and TDS 26AS against the same books, then ledger scrutiny and samples.
The audit rests on known figures.
- The figures the engagement uses are pinned, so the work rests on a known version of the books.
- If the books change after that, the change is reported with the findings it may affect.
