Before you begin
Each client's GST registration needs a GST portal login with the taxpayer's recorded consent before IndiaAuditLens can read the portal for it. Set it up from the client's GSTINs page. Refreshing and downloading use the firm's credits, one portal call at a time, at the usual cost of each call. The cost and the firm's balance are always shown before anything starts. Refreshing filing status needs a manager or above. Switching automatic downloads on or off needs a partner.
Read the firm's filing status
Go to Returns › GST › Filing status. Read the figures above the grid: Overdue, Due soon, Filed late and Not known. Select a figure to show only the clients with returns in that state; select it again to clear it. Each row is one client registration; registrations with overdue returns come first. Each month shows its GSTR-1 (or the IFF in a QRMP quarter's first two months) and its GSTR-3B; the year's GSTR-9 sits at the end. Use Month to see one month with its due dates, Return to see one return, State and the search box to narrow the list. Select a return to see its due date, filing date,…
Due dates follow the GST rules for monthly and quarterly (QRMP) filers. A quarterly GSTR-3B is due on the 22nd or the 24th of the month after the quarter, by the state of the registration.
Refresh the filing status
On Filing status, tick the registrations to refresh, or tick none to refresh all. Select Refresh filing status. Review the preview: the registrations ready, any not set up (no portal login or consent), the credits needed and the firm's balance. A registration whose list was read in the last 12 hours is left out and costs nothing; tick Read them again too to read it anyway. If the balance does not cover all of them, the preview says how many it covers. Select Start. The refresh runs in the background; you can close the window. Each registration ends as Refreshed, Portal login not set up,…
The filing status refresh reads the portal's public filed-return list, so it does not need a portal session or an OTP.
Switch automatic downloads on or off
Go to Returns › GST › Automatic downloads. Every client starts switched off. Turn the switch on for one client, or tick several and select Switch on, or select Switch on for all. Review the preview: about how many credits a month each client uses (GSTR-2A, GSTR-2B, IMS and keeping the portal session alive), the firm's total before and after, the first night's catch-up and the balance. Leave Keep each portal session alive ticked. A night's download needs a live portal session; the session is refreshed before it ends, and each refresh uses a credit. Select Switch on. To stop, turn the switch…
Each night IndiaAuditLens downloads, for every switched-on client, what is due: the GSTR-2B not yet held in full (the last three periods), the latest month's GSTR-2A once every 7 days, and the IMS inbox once every 7 days. The line above the list shows the timing in force. Recent nights shows each night's results.
When a client needs the portal connection
A portal session lasts about six hours. Where a client's session has ended, IndiaAuditLens never sends an OTP on its own: the night (or the refresh) shows Connect to the portal for that client.
Select Connect beside the client. Select Send OTP. The OTP goes to the client's authorised signatory. Enter the OTP and select Connect.
Refresh GSTR-3B, ledgers and notices for many clients
On Automatic downloads, tick the clients, or tick none for all. Select Refresh 3B, ledgers, notices, choose the month and what to read, and select See the cost. Review the credits and the balance, then select Start. Clients whose portal session has ended are listed with Connect.
Important notes
The platform administrator sets how many registrations one run or one night may cover, how many months of GSTR-2A and GSTR-2B are looked back, how often GSTR-2A and IMS are downloaded again, and how recent a filing-status read must be for a refresh to leave it out (12 hours to start with). A night's registrations over the limit are named in that night's results and go first the next night. When credits run out during a night, the remaining clients are skipped and the firm's partners get an in-app notification. Nothing is charged for a skipped client, and the balance never goes below zero.…
